Pop / Rock Cover Wedding Band Hire Hertfordshire - The Rainbow Drops
We are a 5 - 8 Piece party, function & wedding band based in Hertfordshire. Made up of professional musicians from Hertfordshire and the surrounding areas we focus on delivering upbeat and authentic versions of modern day pop songs with oldies classics thrown in. We regularly update our repertoire to keep up with the latest hits so you're likely to hear your current favourite tune at your event and we even offer you the opportunity to help pick your song list.
We aim to bring a splash of colour and excitement to any event and are available as either a full 8 piece line up with horns and two vocalists or as a 5 piece with either a male or female vocalist - either way, we guarantee to keep your party poppin'!
Members of the band have performed on some of the most prestigious venues and festivals in the UK and Europe as well as performing in London's West End, in theatres such as The Dominion and The Phoenix.
As well as this the musicians that make up the band have shared stages with household names such as Katie Melua, Roots Manuva, Alfie Boe, Alt J, and even performed at the Royal Wedding.
We had a fantastic party with the help of this great band! From booking to gig the organisation was excellent and they made it so easy! The band themselves are all fantastic musicians, creating a great party atmosphere and producing some incredible performances! All our guests haven’t stopped talking about them!Emma Lewis

Do we need to provide a PA System and a lighting rig?
No. The band will provide a PA and stage lights. If your event is for upwards of 500 People than we advise that a larger PA system and sound engineer is arranged.
Can we request songs for our event?
For weddings, we include the first dance song at no extra charge. However, we like to think we know what it takes to keep guests dancing and to pick a great setlist. If there is something in our repertoire that you would (or wouldn't) like to hear then please let us know during the booking process.
Will you provide music after your set?
Yes. In between sets and post the band's performance the sound system will be left up for an agreed amount of time. We have a playlist of songs that will keep the guests on the dance floor.
Can I add songs to the playlist?
Yes - In fact, we encourage it! If you would prefer to create your own playlist you will just need to send us a list of songs and we will do the rest.
How long does the band play for?
The band will play 2x 60 minute sets as standard with a 15-20 minute break in between. If you would like the band to play for more or less time or in a different arrangement (3 x 40 minutes) then this can be discussed during the booking process. Please note that this may affect the final fee.
When will the band arrive at my event?
Exact times can be arranged to fit your event, however the band ideally need around 90 minutes to load-in, set up and soundcheck before the start of the first performance.
What is a sound check and how long will it take?
Soundcheck is an essential part to any band's performance. This is where we check the volume of the band and make adjustments so everything can be heard clearly. Every room is different and therefore it is important to check the variations in a room in order to avoid issues such as feedback and to ensure the band sounds great for your event.
The venue for my event has a sound limiter. Will this be an issue?
In a nutshell, no. However this can effect the bands performance especially if the limiter has the capability to cut the power. Please let us know if this is the case so we can compensate for it.
Can we use the bands PA System for speeches?
Yes. However we do not use radio microphones therefore speeches will have to be made from where the band is set up. Please let us know prior to your event if you will need this is we will likely need to arrive and soundcheck much earlier.
Will I need to feed the band?
It can often be a very long evening from set-up to soundcheck and then to the performances and then loading all that equipment out - therefore it is advised that food is arranged for the band either upon arrival, after set-up & soundcheck or after the first set depending on your schedule - a well fed band is a happy band! And this can all be arranged during the booking process.
Will I get this exact band at my event?
Yes, however in the event that one or more of the band members is not available we have a network of trusted 'Deps' that can step in. If you want one of our musicians specifically at your event then just let us know and we can make sure this happens for you.
Do you have Public Liability Insurance (PLI)?
Yes. We are insured up to £10 Million PLI. If your venue requires certificates/confirmation we will happily provide proof of this.
Is the band's equipment PAT tested and what is PAT?
Yes. All equipment belonging to the band is PAT tested. Portable appliance testing (PAT) is the term used to describe the examination of electrical appliances and equipment to ensure they are safe to use.
