Testimonials

The Scouts Association Gilwell Park Reunion "I wanted to say a massive thank you to you and the band for their professionalism and fantastic performance on Saturday night. Our members had a brilliant time and have asked for the band to return next year. I for one did a little dance on my very weak legs from outside when I saw people having an absolute blast in the Lid, I felt proud that the night was going so well. We hope this is not the last time we see the band at Gilwell Park. Once again many thanks to everybody involved."The Scouts Association

Vicky & Matt Wedding Reception "We had planned to do our first dance to a recorded version of ‘At Last’ by Etta James as we had been going to dance lessons and didn’t want to be out of time, but they suggested we try our routine to a live version and we did and we are so glad as they did an awesome version of it. The first dance went so well and they judged their audience so well as there was never an empty dance floor, even up to the last song it was packed! We especially loved the circle of love, especially after a few drinks!! The lead female had such a good voice and some of our guests thought it was the recorded version, what a compliment! 1 month down the line, we are still being told how amazing the band were and with several friends getting married in the next year we have passed their details on. You must book them, you will not be disappointed, quite the opposite!Vicky and Matt

Mia 40th Birthday Party, Buckinghamshire "The best cover band I have ever heard. The lead singer had an amazing voice!"Mia

Luci & Mike Wedding Reception, Oxfordshire "Just brilliant, right music, right mood, right everything. We loved it, we loved them!"Luci and Mike

Vicki & Mike Wedding Reception, Southend "Just wanted to say a huge thank you to you and the band for your fantastic music at our wedding. Everyone has commented on how good you were and I for one had sore feet from dancing so much. Thanks again."Vicki and Mike

FAQ

How much space do you need and do you require a raised stage?
We do not require a raised stage as such, this is up to you, however we do require a flat and stable surface due to health and safety and performance quality. A performance area generally about 4m x 4m.

How much do you charge?
Unfortunately, it is difficult to give you an indication of our charges without knowing a little bit about your event. Various things can affect the cost of hiring a band including the date, the location, the length of time you want us to play, early arrival and late finishes. We like to work within your budget wherever possible so please do not hesitate to enquire about us and we will be more than happy to give you a quote.

Do you charge extra for sound and lighting equipment?
No, we provide our own high quality professional sound and lighting systems and these are included in any quote for the band.

Can I see The Come Back live before booking them?
Yes you can, we showcase on a regular basis which we provide details to upon request. We are currently very busy and unfortunately, as you can imagine it is very difficult to invite you to a private function and therefore that is why we offer the private showcases as an alternative.

Are you covered for public liability insurance?
Yes we have public liability insurance, the cover is the amount of five million pounds.

How far do you travel?
We travel worldwide but most of our bookings are approximately two hours of London, bookings beyond this area may incur additional travel expenses and/or overnight accommodation.

There are noise restrictions at my venue, what would these be and can you still play?
Some venues have sound restrictions which they may check with a sound meter, more commonly they may have a sound limiter installed. Noise limiters are pre-set to a certain level (eg: 90 decibels) if the music exceeds this limit, after a brief warning, the power is cut off altogether!
A lot of things can affect how a noise limiter operates-the positioning of the limiter. the acoustics of the room and noise from the audience etc.
This is very common and we have catered for many venues that have noise restrictions. For these restrictions we would use an electronic drum kit which goes through our main P.A system which gives us more control of the overall mix.
We have much experience playing at low decibels and have built up our own database of venues with sound limiters so we usually have a pretty good idea.

My venue has asked for a PAT certificate. What is this and can you provide it?
PAT stands for Portable Appliance Test and covers the electrical safety of any price of portable electrical equipment used in the work place. This is not a specific statutory test like an MOT but it comes under various Health and safety at work and electrical regulations which state that any electrical equipment used in the work place must be properly maintained and regularly inspected to ensure it's safety.
The frequency of the testing and the qualifications of the tester must simply be appropriate to the type of equipment and the environment in which it is being used but most venues expect tests for a bands electrical equipment to be carried out annually by a qualified electrician. We are able to provide a pat certificate where required.

When do you set up?
A typical set up time is usually around 6.00pm with an arrival of 5.30 with a midnight finish but this may vary due to each customers specifications.

My function is in a marquee, when would be suitable time for the band to set up?
There would be a number of ways to organise our set-up, these will be affected by the timings of your event, the layout and size and wether there is outside access to the performance area (usually a removable tent flap) without having to go past the guests. Generally there are a couple of options,
Firstly we can set up before the guests enter the marquee. The advantage is that the band we will be set up and available to start whenever you want and the p.a system could be available for speeches and recorded backing music/ our DJ service during the afternoon/ evening. The disadvantage is that we may possibly charge more for an early set up.
Secondly the band can set up after the wedding breakfast or celebratory meal has finished. There is usually a natural break at this point in the proceedings and guests are not going to be too bothered about a band setting up in the background. The disadvantage of this might mean that our performance start will be delayed.

What if we require you to arrive early in the day?
We can do this but this would sometimes require an early set up fee as it depends where we are in the country, we may have to stay in accommodation to make sure we arrive with plenty of time to spare.

Can you start your LIVE set earlier or go past the time you agreed on the day?
Yes, we understand that sometimes your schedule may not go as planned and therefore we are accommodating where possible, we do encourage you and your guests to enjoy yourself right up to the last minute as long as it comply's with the venues licence policy and we don't go past their restricted curfews as this could effect their licence or cause us a fine.

How long does it take you to set up?
Our PA system and lights generally take 90 minutes to set up but this can vary depending on the ease of the access point to the performance area as this can have an impact on how long we need.

What are the electrical power requirements?
We require domestic style three-pin 13 amp sockets. Two sockets are preferred and where more than one socket is required, we recommend that these are supplied from different ring mains so that the power is evenly distributed. For marquees, the contractor should be able to provide 15 amp supply which is then split into separately fused 13 amp sockets. For marquees and outdoor events a surge protection device must be fitted. Total power loading will not exceed 6kva and will probably be a lot less.

Can I choose your LIVE playlist?
We send you our song list so you can check of your likes and dislikes. We
compile the set list, this is because there are many factors in determine the order and composition of the play list, such as key signatures, tempos, guitar changes, the order of electronically sequenced backing tracks, etc. Plus we have extensive experience in knowing what will keep your guests happy and on the dance floor. Our song list is constantly evolving and being updated and is a result of many years of great requests and suggestions, we welcome any song suggestions as we might already play them.

How long do you perform LIVE?
We perform live for two hours which is divided into two one hour sets or three forty minute sets. This is because
performing for longer than this can risk damaging the lead singers voice.

Will you need to sound check?
It is important for us to soundcheck and we would like you to allow a specific time for us to do this when it is convenient for you and your guests. We have gone without a sound check in the past but we try to avoid this where possible as it can effect the performance due to the levels not being correct as our mix is adapted to each surrounding. It is particularly important to sound check when we are performing with a sound meter.

Do you offer a DJ service?
Yes, we can offer you our very own exclusive "live DJ service" FREE of charge.

Can I request songs from the DJ service?
When you book our DJ service you will receive a form to complete where you can, request specific songs and tell us your likes and dislikes. This will help guide us. Most of the time, to complement the LIVE music show our DJ is asked to play a good mixture of songs and genres to accommodate a wide cross section of the friends and family......from rockers to ravers.......young and mature. We also take requests on the night.

What if I don't want any DJ service?
We offer you the facility to play an I-pod or similar device through our P.A system, if it is important for you to select the recorded music then it may be easier to burn your
own compilation CD or play your own MP3 player or iPod through our p.a system.
Please bare in mind that pre-recorded compilations can not be easily edited.

Can I or one of my guests sing or play along with you on the day?
We are happy for you or one of your guests to "sit in" with us, but we will need advanced warning and it's best to have agreed beforehand what song is going to be performed. We strongly advise against people just jumping up as and when they wish due to our quality of performance, equipment and health and safety risks.

What if a band member is ill on the day of my function?
This is very rare but in this incident we would provide a substitute.

Do you require a hot meal?
No, we do not require a hot meal. However, It is always nice if one is provided. We are more than happy to help ourself to a buffet also. Failing that, we will bring pack lunch. No diva’s here.
